What started off as a small Barber Shop has grown significantly in both size and reputation. Columbus is my frist location for good reason, but first let us tell you more about Columbus.

Columbus is located in Lowndes County, Mississippi, near the Tombigbee River. It is approximately 120 miles from Birmingham, Alabama.​

​

Columbus was founded in 1819 and was first officially recognized as the Town of Columbus on December 6, 1819. Possum Town is the local nickname for the town and was named after a small local creek.​

​

During the American Civil War, Columbus was a hospital town. It manufactured gunpowder, handguns and a few cannons, and the Confederate General Forrest prevented the Union from conquering Columbus.​

​

Columbus, Mississippi, has an extensive collection of antebellum homes which are open to tourists during the annual Pilgrimage.​

​

Since World War II, Columbus Air Force Base has hosted flight training school. Today, it has the distinction of being the only base where regular flight conditions may be experienced.​

​

Columbus boasted several industries in the mid-20th century, but most of these plants closed by 2000.​

​

 In 2010, Columbus won a Great American Main Street Award. Columbus has a side that maintains a quiet charm and relaxing feel in spite of the growth surrounding it.
